Psychologist

Dr Sophie Raymont

Dr Sophie Raymont is a Clinical Psychologist with over 12 years of experience working in NHS and charity mental health settings. She has worked in a number of Child and Adolescent Mental Health teams across London, as well as Specialist Adult Psychodynamic services for people who struggle with intense emotions and interpersonal relationships. She is experienced in working with anxiety, low mood, anger, self-esteem and confidence issues, trauma, personality difficulties and attachment/relationship issues. As well as delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Sophie has a particular interest in working within a psychodynamic framework and using Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT). She supports people to understand the conscious and unconscious patterns of relating to themselves and others and the ways in which these may contribute to the difficulties or “symptoms” they experience. Sophie helps people to use this understanding to bring observable change in their lives. She believes that fulfilling relationships, whether with friends, partners, family or colleagues, are fundamental to human wellbeing. Sophie’s therapeutic approach is warm, empathic and direct. She believes that therapy is most beneficial when honest and authentic reflections are exchanged by both therapist and client and she will be active in sharing her mind with you and making suggestions where appropriate in sessions.
