What Is Yoga?
At Seven Lion Yard, we offer a calm and supportive space to explore yoga as a grounding and nourishing practice – not as a workout, but as a way to soften into your body, calm your mind and reconnect with yourself.
All of our yoga offerings are slow, spacious and very accessible, with a focus on rest, release and reconnection. Whether you are new to yoga or looking to deepen a gentler practice, you are very welcome.
Our approach is grounded in stillness, presence and compassion. We do not do fast flows, intense heat or strong vinyasa – instead, we guide you towards a quieter experience of gentle movement, breath and rest.
We currently offer:
- Slow Flow and Yin Yoga
These classes combine gentle movement with longer-held postures, giving you time to slow down, stretch deeply and listen to your body. With a focus on breath awareness and mindful transitions, this style of yoga supports flexibility, emotional balance and nervous system regulation. Suitable for all levels, including beginners or those returning to yoga after a break. - Yoga Nidra (Guided Yogic Rest)
Known as ‘yogic sleep,’ yoga nidra is a deeply restorative, meditative practice done lying down. You will be guided into a state of conscious rest that can feel more rejuvenating than sleep, helping to relieve stress, anxiety and fatigue. No movement is required – just comfort, stillness and presence. It’s ideal if you are looking for rest, insight or a sense of inner spaciousness.
Our classes are designed to support your whole self — body, mind and heart — without pushing or performance.
Why Practise Yoga with Us?
People join our yoga sessions for many reasons — to rest, to reconnect, to feel more at ease in their bodies. Regular practice can support:
- Stress reduction and nervous system balance
- Greater flexibility, mobility and joint health
- Improved sleep and energy
- Enhanced emotional regulation
- A deeper sense of presence and embodiment
You do not need to be flexible or experienced. You do not need the ‘right’ body, clothes or background. You are welcome exactly as you are.
Summary
At Seven Lion Yard, yoga is an invitation to pause — to meet yourself with compassion, move with care, and breathe with awareness. Our classes are here to help you feel more grounded, spacious and at home in your own body. We look forward to practising with you.
