Amanda Bryan

Amanda worked for the HMP Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) for 14 years as a Senior Forensic Psychologist assessing risk of reoffending and delivering and supervising group and individual therapy with men, women, transgender women, and young adults. Amanda also worked as an NHS Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Clinical Lead for an Enhanced Support Service (OPD ESS) within HMPPS supporting staff and clients struggling to manage complex trauma, self-harm, suicidal thoughts and violent ideation. Amanda has experience of working clients within custody and the community with a diagnosis or suspected personality disorder, ADHD, autism, brain injury, complex trauma, and/or low intellectual functioning. Amanda specialises in working with clients struggling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety, stress, low self-esteem/confidence, and relationship difficulties.

Amanda can deliver Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT), Compassionate Focused Therapy (CFT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) approaches, in addition to Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) trauma therapy. She has personal experience of PTSD and completed EMDR and CBT therapy as part of her recovery. These experiences have helped her become the therapist she is today.
