Dr Jan-Sher Bhatti is an experienced Chartered Clinical Psychologist, a member of the British Psychological Society and accredited by the HCPC. His doctoral training equips him to adopt a variety of therapeutic approaches, to assist clients in overcoming psychological and emotional challenges. This includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), a highly researched talking therapy which focuses on exploring thoughts, actions, as well as life experiences and beliefs. He also considers the importance of clients’ social context and is practiced in alternative therapeutic models, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), to offer improvements in psychological and emotional wellbeing.
Dr Bhatti has over 10 years of experience in inpatient and community services to support people across all ages. He specialises in assisting families, children and young people experiencing a physical health condition, as well as providing 1:1 therapy with adolescents and adults experiencing general mental health difficulties. This includes overcoming anxiety and low mood, as well as more specific issues relating to trauma and phobias.
Dr Bhatti understands the unique experiences that people from ethnic minorities can face and supports clients to explore their identity and values, including their cultural perspective and spiritual or philosophical outlook. He prides himself on maintaining a non-judgemental, compassionate and collaborative stance to support achievable and realistic goals.
